Have you ever felt like the devil was laughing at you? Maybe you have prayed for something and the door you thought would open slammed shut in your face. Or maybe you thought things were getting better and then they got worse. It can feel like the devil is just sitting there laughing in your face. I myself have felt this way before.
The truth is, though the devil may be laughing now, in the end he is the one who loses the fight. That’s because God has already won the fight. When Jesus died on the cross for our sins, the devil thought he had won. However, three days later, Jesus rose from the dead, and the devil was defeated. So in times when you think the devil is winning, just remember that in the end, God wins again and again.
There may be trials that are hard, and you don’t understand why you have to go through them, but when you get through the trial, you are much closer to God and gain wisdom from it. Romans 5:3-4 says, “And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; and perseverance, character; and character, hope.”
